Mediation
A cooperative and collaborative method of dispute resolution for civil cases.
What is Mediation?
Mediation is a private process in which two parties in a dispute meet with a neutral third person in an effort to arrive at a mutually agreeable resolution.
The mediator assists with communication, gathers relevant information and develops options for solutions. Ultimately, the disputants decide upon the final resolution.
When should you hire a Mediator?
If cost is a concern, mediation is often a lower-cost and quicker method of dispute resolution compared to going to court.
Since both parties have input on the details of the resolution, the final terms of the settlement are ensured to be agreeable to each. Additionally, unlike a public court hearing, the mediation process is completely confidential.
