Biography
Ben Bartels brings over a decade of legal expertise to Hammer Law Firm, having practiced law for 12 years with a distinguished focus on criminal defense. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Iowa and earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
Ben’s dedication to legal education is evident from his tenure as a Professor at the University of Dubuque from 2008 to 2022, where he was honored with the Faculty Hall of Fame award and named National Undergraduate Mediation Coach of the Year. He was admitted to the bar in February 2013 and is an active member of the Iowa State Bar Association, Dubuque Bar Association, and Iowa Association for Justice.
Throughout his career, Ben has been a relentless advocate for his clients, achieving outstanding results in criminal defense cases. Outside the courtroom, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Callie, and their awesome children.
